CORONA VIRUS UPDATE

March 21, 2020by Bobbie0
Hi everyone, I hope you are all keeping safe and well during this strange time we find ourselves in. You’ll have to excuse the silence over the last couple of days. I’m sure you can imagine things have been very busy both at school and behind the scenes of Indigo. I have been waiting for clarification as to what the new government guidelines mean for us at present.

What this means for holiday club:

I write this with a heavy heart. As a result of the latest government updates, I’m devastated to have to inform you that Indigo Easter Holiday Club 2020 will no longer be able to go ahead. I have been monitoring things day by day. Unfortunately, it has become clear that we cannot possibly run in our usual form, under the current circumstances. It would not be responsible for us to encourage people to send their children to holiday club if parents have the option to keep them at home.

What this means if you’ve paid:

This is such a stressful and difficult time for so many people in so many ways, myself included. With Indigo being my business an making up a good portion of my income, it’s horrific to have to do this but everyone’s safety must take priority. I have separately emailed everyone who has booked or recently enquired. I do not wish for anyone who has already paid for their booking to be out of pocket, therefore I have included details regarding crediting your Easter payments for future holiday club dates, within the email.

What this means for Key Workers:

There is a small silver lining for anyone who is classed as a key worker and still needs essential provision during the school holidays. Currently as it stands, I can still open my doors for your children. Therefore if you still need the days you have booked, your children may still attend, however, please take seriously the government guidance: “Every child who can safely be cared for at home should be.” If you have alternative provision in the home that falls within the guidance, please do use it as a first choice. I am here if needed, by anyone who falls into this category. For those who still need to attend, there will be extra precautionary safety and hygiene measures in place, full details of which have been emailed out.
May I take this opportunity to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and custom since I first set up. Without it, Indigo would not have grown to be as successful as it is today.

In this together:

We are all in this uncertain time together. Here to support one another. I look forward to coming out on the other side of this with you, when we can open our doors with a big warm welcome to all your children once again. This will not beat us! I have so many exciting plans I’d hoped to implement this year, which will go on the back burner for now. So, please do stay with us. Follow us on social media. Leave us a review. Keep in touch and keep us updated with what you’re getting up to at home. I have spent the last couple of weeks preparing for the possibility of this worst case scenario so I will be announcing some exciting plans later, about bringing Indigo to you in the home.
Keep your kids singing loud and proud at home, even if it drives you a little bit crazy sometimes! Post videos of them singing and dancing.  Playing musical instruments. Post pictures of their artwork and projects. I’m sure I’m only one of many people who work with kids, when I say how much I’m going to miss all these little faces. I’ve been around children daily for the last 13-14 years in schools and activity clubs! The random stories they blurt out in the middle of a lesson at the most inappropriate time and you have to hold in that giggle. The exciting news and achievements they can’t wait to share with you. That new dance they’ve made up at playtime and want you to watch. Seeing new friendships form. The pride on their face when they’ve completed a challenging project – the list is endless.
Working with kids has been, and always will be, my life work. Whilst we know this strange time won’t last forever, I’m going to miss being surrounded by all your amazing little people every day. Stay safe everyone and treasure all those funny, sweet, crazy little moments. Because really, at a time like this, it turns out that they’re actually the most precious.
