World Kindness Day

Recognising World Kindness Day. The smallest act of kindness can make a huge difference to someone’s day.Maybe even their life.
With today’s current affairs, kindness can seem like a rare commodity. However, if you look closely, really pay attention and notice the small things, you will see that kindness is in fact all around us. We can all spread joy and raise hope through our own random acts of kindness.
At holiday club, we encourage the children to notice their own and others positive behaviour. We do this through a Mindfulness Raffle that we draw each day. Anyone can nominate anyone else, for an act of kindness they have noticed, multiple times by different children. Someone may have helped a new child settle in or helped with a craft activity. They may have just been a lovely friend.
What we have found, is that the children all become much more aware of what’s going on around them. They notice the small, kind things that others are doing and become much more aware of their own behaviour towards others as well.
At the end of the day, we pick a random ticket and the winner chooses a prize from the prize box, which is an exciting and positive way to promote kindness.
Let’s lead by example!
