Our very first Whizz Kid Workshop – Bushcraft Survival, which will be running on Saturday 30th June. Places for this are limited at 12 and the minimum age to be able take part is 6 years old. It will run from 10am-4pm and the children will need to bring a packed lunch, in a rucksack bag ideally, and appropriate footwear for being outside in the woodland area as we will be outside for most of the day doing physical activities (if the weather is very wet, we may do some of the team challenges and skill games indoors).
They will be learning all about: how to build a shelter and will split into two teams to have a go at this; fire-starting with flint and steel; using fire in a Kelly Kettle to heat water and build a campfire (we may toast a few marshmallows!); how Stone Age tools were crafted and all about methods of how they hunted food and information on foraging in the wild. They’ll have the chance to have a go at making a Stone Age tool and play some team-building skill and logic games, including archery.
The day will be fun but quite intensive and is priced at £25 per child. As always, sibling discount are available so please let me know if this is applicable to you. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, upon receipt of booking form and payment. If you have already filled in a new registration form for your child, you only need to fill in the booking form. If your child hasn’t been to holiday club since before May half term and you haven’t already filled a form in for summer, you will need to complete the updated registration form as well. This has been updated in line with the new data protection guidance.
• Sibling discount of £5 per child
